Rewarding Volunteer Opportunities with KOAH in 2019

Military kids have a special place in your heart and you’re ready to get in the action to make a big difference.

Which is perfect, because our MilKids need you more than ever. As our overseas conflicts wind down and more troops come home, it’s easy for folks to forget the very real sacrifices of military families.

Even with a slower deployment tempo, troops are constantly serving our nation at home and overseas. We still have forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Plus, even routine training or missions can be dangerous.

Military kids are still moving around the world every 1.5-3 years on average and dealing with their parent’s extended absences. Kids connected to retired, reserve or veterans troops are often still trying to find a way to handle the impact of their military life.

It’s more important now than ever that our community band together to show our MilKids just how much we care!

Kids of America’s Heroes offers so many exciting and fulfilling ways that you can support military children and families. We’d love to welcome you to our family!

There are so many great ways to give back to military connected kids when you volunteer with KOAH!

Volunteer with KOAH

We’d love to see you at one of our annual events. KOAH hosts corn hole tournaments, poker runs, and participates in golf tournaments. We’d love to have your help to make sure that we have a successful and smooth event!

We also host events for units located in the greater Connecticut region. From holiday parties to welcome home celebrations, we want to be there for our military families when they need us most. And we can’t show support without your help!

Plus, we send out hundreds of KOAH Hugs regularly to military kids around the country. Each mailing is packed with love and stuffed with thoughtful items to help a MilKids handle their parent’s deployment.

Our charity events, like the poker run, raise money that is put back into our programs and advocacy. Having events that runs like clockwork, thanks to volunteers, means that we can have more gatherings and raise more money!

Volunteers at military family events, like holiday parties, free up troops and other military-connected adults to spend time with their kids! Your presence at a photo booth or sharing yummy treats means that military families will have more time together - something that many families have very little of currently.

Advocate with KOAH

Do you know how to make things happen? Have a few high level strings to pull? We’d love to add you to our advocacy team! We’re constantly working with government leaders to create laws and programs that support military families. We’d love your help making connections, creating briefs and spreading the word!

Perhaps you’re connected with companies or organizations that would love to support military families. We’d love to find ways to make your employer or community more MilKid-friendly!
